#51 Conversation Is The Best Gift

mary

Act of Kindness: Let’s just pretend I’m holding the sign. I thought about a sweet 96- year old lady who used to call and talk to me for hours…she was so lonely. She had a hard time getting around and had nobody to talk to. I bought some groceries that I thought she might enjoy or need and took them to her house. We had a nice visit, which I know she enjoyed more than the food.

How do you know Terri:   Terri is a wonderful friend and angel sent from God to my daughter Misha and her family. She has helped to grow them spiritually and taken care of them in tough times in every other way as well. She always has a glow about her and a Godly demeanor that inspires even ME!

Birthday Message to Terri:  HAPPY. BIRTHDAY, Terri. Just think…..HALF A HUNDRED! Hope the year is as good for you as mine was (long, long ago) for me!

#50 Three Feet Goes A Long Way

Kevin

Act of Kindness: While Glenn and I were at Subway we were in line to a nice lady who was picking up sandwiches for her kids track team. So we told her we would like to buy the 3 foot long sandwiches for her as part of the 50 Acts of Kindness for my wife’s birthday. We explained it all to her and it brought a big smile to her face. I have no doubt that she will Pay it Forward one day.

How do you know Terri:   Terri is my wonderful wife!

Birthday Message to Terri:

Babe,

It’s hard to believe that you are going to be “my age” now. You look soooo much younger that I do. I have to say that God blessed me by bringing you into my life. You have been such an inspiration to me and many others as well. You are such a loving, kind and giving person and I couldn’t imagine spending my life without you.

I hope this milestone birthday gift from all of us fills your heart with joy and happiness!

Romans 12:8

If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving. give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

I love you and look forward to what God has in store for us!

Happy Birthday!

Kevin

#49 Teacher Appreciation

katelyn

Act of Kindness: I decided to write letters to teachers who have impacted me throughout school. I wrote a letter to a teacher from my middle school, high school, and college that I have not been in contact with and sent it to them. I am hoping that a little random note to thank them for what they do will brighten their day!

How do you know Terri:   I work with Terri at Independence Title.

Birthday Message to Terri:  Happy Birthday Terri! Hope you have a great day!

#47 Shared Smiles At McDonalds

mcdonalds

Act of Kindness:  I was at McDonald’s getting my usual breakfast, a #3 with a small orange juice. There was a woman in a white SUV behind me. I watched her for a minute and decided that I’d buy her breakfast, hopefully to help start her day off right. I got to the window to pay and told the cashier that I was paying for the lady’s order. I was watching in my rear view mirror as I pulled up to get my breakfast from the second window. She was trying to pay and I could see the cashier shaking her head and pointing towards me. By then I was making a circle to go around to the light so I was driving right past the lady. She rolled down her window and started yelling “thank you, thank you, I needed that this morning” with a huge smile on her face while waving her hand at me. I waved back with a matching smile on my face. It was the start of a great day.

How do you know Terri:  I first met Terri in April of 2010 while she was assisting her husband with a photo session. I remember thinking how beautiful she was. Little did I know that she would be back in my life almost 2 years later and quickly gain a piece of my heart. She came back into my life at a crucial time. God works in mysterious ways and I am grateful everyday that He brought Terri back into my life. She is someone I value tremendously in my life and am thankful to be able to call her my friend. I don’t just think she is beautiful anymore…. I KNOW that she is, her outside beauty is but only a glimpse to how beautiful she is on the inside! I’m extremely lucky!

Birthday Message to Terri:  Happy, happy, happy birthday my dear friend. I am honored to be able to share this day with you.

#46 Karate Kindness

scooby

Act of Kindness: I am in karate and my team is called Lil Warriors. I know it is an expensive acticity as my Mamaw always seems to be writing a check everytime I go. We have a lot of weapons we have to use and boards we have to break. Everytime we have a belt promotion my Mamaw writes another check. One of my the Lil Warriors on my team did not get to promote last week to his orange belt because his parents had to spend all there money on repairing their car. So with the help of Mamaw I paid for his belt promotion. All he has to do now is pass his test and he will be an orange belt just like me.

How do you know Terri:  Ms. Terri is a good friend to my Mamaw, Susan C. I am only 4 years old but my Mamaw is trying to teach me how to be a loving and giving person. Sometimes I am not so good but I try really hard. I am mostly good! 🙂

Birthday Message to Terri:  Happy Birthday Ms. Terri! Thank you for teaching me and my Mamaw to be good to people in need.

#45 Needy Couple Gets Bikes :)

bikes

Act of Kindness: A young couple we know was at our home recently and saw that we had some bicycles in our garage that clearly were not being used. They seemed interested and are needed the bikes.

So we gave them to them. Felt really good to help them out!

True Confession:  Okay…..true confessions! This ‘needy’ couple that we gave the bikes to was……….Terri & Kevin!

These two are among our very favorite people. It was their kindness, love and friendship that were introduced to an amazing group of brothers and sisters through our small group at Hill Ciuntry Bible Church.

Terri and Kevin. You live your faith fully and honestly every day. You are such an encouragement to Leanne and me. We are blessed by God to be a part of your life!

We praise Him for that. And love you both!!

#44 Longtime Friend Supports Clean Water

Nancy

Act of Kindness: The school that I teach at is raising money to build water wells in third world countries. I know what a loving and giving heart Terri has for others. In her honor, I donated money towards the cause of clean water.

How do you know Terri:  I have known Terri since she was 16….and wow, that is saying something! Terri has been a close and very dear friend to my entire (large) family. Terri was friends with my brothers when they were in high school and worked for my dad for many years. Then, we lost touch. Until that divine moment when we bought a house right next door to Terri and Kevin. The last 15 years have been an amazing journey together.

Birthday Message to Terri:  Happy Birthday, Terri. You are truly one very loved woman of God. I am so proud to call you my friend.

I love you!

#42 Middle School Madness

Digital Camera

Act of Kindness: Terri, Tony and I sponsored 13 middle school kids for a 3 day trip to Soul Link in Houston this last weekend, We knew how much you enjoyed the trip you sponsored with the College kids last year and we wanted to share our trip with you as an act of kindness. Sometimes hanging out with Middle Schoolers isn’t always an act of kindness. There were a few beatings during the trip but in some ways those might be acts of kindness depending on how you look at it. It sure made Tony feel better since he was the giver and not the recipient.
We all stayed in one house with two bathrooms which created even more fun. The guys slept downstairs and the girls upstairs. It was a great trip and we had a great time. We would go to bed after midnight each night and the adults would get up at 5:30 each morning. Tony and I did talk about you each night as to whether you would still be awake or not.
All 17 of us wanted to send you a happy birthday wish on this milestone birthday you have reached.
I typed in a larger than normal font so this would be easy reading. Sorry I couldn’t blow the picture up more. Those little magnifying glasses help with that and I have an extra one if you need it. (Tony wrote this)
Love you a lot, Kim

How do you know Terri:  Friends since High School

Birthday Message to Terri:  Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Love you dear!!
