What Is This Website All About?

Welcome to the secret club! You have probably landed on this site because you or someone you know loves Terri M.

My best friend Terri M. is turning 50 on March 7th, 2013. This will be a clandestine operation until the big reveal in March.

A lot of people, myself included, would want to celebrate the momentous 50th milestone with a lavish dinner party, deliciously decadent cake and lots of presents. Not Terri. Terri is a beautiful, adventurous and giving soul. Big box stores are boring, normal and predictable. She is the type of woman who really enjoys searching for and finding a treasure at a garage sale or local thrift store. There is the undeniable thrill of the hunt and the joy of finding something lovely, and for pennies on the dollar. Even better if the original tags are still on! She’s good at it too! And that’s the fun, she looks great and has a happy giving heart. Extraordinary.

And, she loves giving! She thoroughly enjoys purging her closets and cabinets regularly and makes donations to her favorite charities.  A lavish dinner party just isn’t her style and gifts from those big box stores, not so much! She would much rather have all the energy and money that we would spend on her donated to a good cause. That would truly thrill her. So in light of her giving spirit, we have created 50actsofkindness.com.

Sometime between now and March 2nd (the big reveal for this site) please document a simple act of kindness. Send in a picture, and a quick story and we will add it to this blog. The goal is to have at least 50 acts of kindness documented by March 2nd to present to Terri for her 50th birthday. Best. Birthday. Ever.

Here are some ideas for you. You get bonus points if you take a picture WITH the person that you gifted with this act of kindness holding a piece of paper saying Happy 50th Terri M.!! You are not limited on the number of acts of kindness you submit!

• Pay for the person behind you at Starbucks

• Pay for someone’s groceries

• Donate money to your favorite charity

• Pick up trash at a local park

• Volunteer at the animal shelter

• Cook dinner for a neighbor in need

• You get the idea…be creative!
