#24 A Pantry Filled A Family Fed

Act of Kindness: I heard about a guy that lives in Bertram. His wife had ran off and left him to raise his 2 year old son alone. Over the last 6 or 7 months, I have been donating Scooby’s toys and clothes as Scooby out grows them. After learning more about him, I learned that he is really struggling to provide food for himself and his son. He works full time but barely makes enough to survive. He even rides a bike to and from work. Today I went to HEB and bought him groceries. When I delivered them and helped him put them away, I have to say I was shocked. There was not one thing in the fridge or pantry. I told him why I was there and it was in honor of a special friend. He was trying hard not to cry. He told me it was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for him. I will never forget this day.

How do you know Terri: Terri and I met in late 1992 while both going through a sad and hard time. She was there to knock sense into me and I was there to help her eat Frosted Flakes at 2 in the morning. Obviously a lot has happened since 1992 and through it all, I would like to think we have been there for each other. Life is good and we are blessed.

Birthday Message to Terri: Terri, I am not sure I can put into words how great I truly think you are. Over the past 21 years you have been a great friend. You have unknowingly brought God into my life. When we talk and I tell you about a problem or situation, you always make me see it in a different light. You have talked me down off the cliff on a few occasions. You are always practical and to say the least STRAIGHT FORWARD. You have a way of making me feel better after we talk and I love you for that!!!!

Love,

Susan C.
